Fallen Four Memorial Ceremony (7:30PM - 9:30PM)
Fallen Four Memorial Society March 3rd, 2010 Luminary Candle Lighting Ceremony
Mayerthorpe - On March 3rd 2010, the Mayerthorpe Fallen Four Memorial Society will be holding a luminary candle lighting ceremony to commemorate the 5 year anniversary of the deaths of RCMP Constables Peter Schiemann, Leo Johnston, Anthony Gordon and Brock Myrol.
The ceremony will began at 7:30 PM and is taking place at the Fallen Four Memorial Park in Mayerthorpe. Everyone is invited to attend and help honor our four RCMP members, plus and all soldiers, peace and police officers who have died wearing the uniform to protect all citizens.
Luminaries will be available at the park that evening, but the public is invited to bring their own special candles and lighters if they choose.
More Information will be coming out next week regarding the annual RCMP Fallen Four Memorial Hockey game and Silent Auction Fundraiser taking place on March 19th, 2010 in Whitecourt, Alberta.

Calgary Student Safety Expo (9:00AM)
About 3,200 Calgary students from grades 4 to 7 will be attending Safety Expo 2010 in the Municipal Atrium on March 10 and 11. This year’s Safety Expo will feature 37 colourful and interactive displays, a variety of protective services vehicles, workshops, “Education Corner” presentations, and hands-on learning opportunities. Led by The City of Calgary, a multi-agency committee organized Safety Expo. Committee partners include Animal & Bylaw Services, ENMAX, the Calgary Fire Department, the Calgary Police Service, Alberta Health Services (EMS), the Girl Guides of Canada, Safer Calgary, Campus Calgary: City Hall School, Youthlink Calgary and St. John Ambulance. Pre-registered students from Calgary Catholic, public, private and charter schools are attending the event. Attendance is free and bus fees for participating schools are paid for by ENMAX.
