"They Have a Name" human trafficking event to be held at Mount Royal University.
The event will include a presentation by ACT and a celebration of the release of the book Human Trafficking: Exploring the International Nature,Concerns, and Complexities, edited by John Winterdyk, Benjamin Perrin and Philip Reichel. The book also contains a chapter co-authored by Julie Kaye (ACT Calgary coordinator) and John Winterdyk (a member of the board of directors of ACT) titled 'Explaining Human Trafficking'.
The evening will also feature a reading of Act I of the play 'She Has a Name' performed by members of the Burnt Thicket Theatre along with a keynote address given by Yvon Dandurand, a leading international expert in human trafficking and criminal justice. The 2012 Alberta Solicitor General and Public Security Crime Prevention Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012.
This event will be held at McDougall Centre in Calgary, and co-hosted by the Alberta Solicitor General and Public Security and the Calgary Police Service. The awards will be presented by the Honourable Jonathan Denis, Solicitor General and Minister of Public Security.
