Simon Cattleman Receives His Free Helmet from RCMP for Red Deer Bike Safety Campaign

The RCMP are very pleased to have partnered with the Safe Communities Central Alberta,
Bike Safety Committee for the positive ticket campaign.
The committee received funding through the Primary Care Network of Red Deer which went
toward the positive ticket program for the purchase of bike helmets, and other prizes
which are given away daily by the Y-Cru and City Bylaw Officers.  Tickets are given to
youth who ride their bikes safely and are obeying the traffic laws.  In order to qualify
for a free helmet the recipient must sign a pledge promising to wear the helmet whenever
they are riding their bike.

On Friday July 30, 2010 Cst. Rafferty presented one of the helmets to 6 year old Simon
Cattleman of Red Deer.  (photo attached)

Tip of the Moment

Crime Prevention Through Enviromental Design (CPTED)
At home, shrubs and trees should not create blind spots or hiding spots on your property. Exterior doors should be visible from the street or by neighbours.
